Where were you?

It has been 9 years since the terrorist attacks. Wow. To me, it doesn't seem that long ago.

I was a freshman at ETSU, in my dorm room, talking on the phone with my mom. I was sick with a virus that morning, and didn't go to my 8 a.m. class. My mom told me what was going on, and I was glued to the television for most of the morning/afternoon. In fact, I remember that classes were called off for the rest of the day. That evening, the student body gathered in the ampitheater on campus and had a prayer circle. There were a lot of tears, confusion, anger and sympathy that day. Everywhere I turned around, people were on cell phones and the gas stations were packed. I can't describe the feeling I felt, but I could feel it in the air. It was as if you wanted to armour up, as a team. We were attacked. OUR people died.

I doubt there are many who don't remember where they were when they heard about the attacks. Too many people lost their life that day and will never be forgotten.

God bless our troops who are overseas fighting for our freedom. You are greatly appreciated.

Hey mom......I'm BAAAACCCKKK!! :)

My new obsession is blog stalking, therefore, it makes me want to update my own blog since it hasn't been given any love since February of last year.

What has been happening in the life of Lyndsay McGhee, you ask?

Well, the past year has been filled with sleepless nights, poopy diapers, wet kisses, and a new found love bigger than Texas. Our little Parker (who will referred to as P) is already 1. Our first year with her has been nothing less than amazing. Matthew (who will be referred to as M) and I never knew our hearts were capable of loving something (OUR something) so much. It. Is. Awesome.

Pics to come soon of sweet little P.

It's a GIRL! :)

So, at our 20 week ultrasound, yesterday, we found out that we are having a baby GIRL! We are thrilled! The best news of the visit was that the baby looks healthy and is growing right on target! She was doing all sorts of crazy flips in my belly yesterday. We are convinced that we have the next Shaun Johnson growing inside of me! :) My next visit will be the dreaded diabetes test....oh, the thought of drinking that mess! So, little Parker Annsley should be making her big entrance in 4 1/2 more months! We cannot wait to meet her! :)
Now, it's time for mommy, daddy and Nana Pam to start on the nursery!

Half way there!! :)

So, today I am 20 weeks pregnant, and that means that we are half way there!! Can we wait 20 MORE weeks to see our little one?! I guess we have to. :) I have felt pretty well so far. After 14 weeks are so, the nausea went away, and I have had some not-so-fun headaches along the way. But, oh how worth it it will all be! We have an ultrasound on Monday to confirm the sex of our baby. Matthew and I are so anxious, too. My gut feeling, at first, was boy. (Matthew's too) After the u.s. tech telling us she would "guess" it's a girl at our 15 week ultrasound, I think we both feel like it's a girl. We will be excited and blessed either way.

Where have I been?!

Was my last post REALLY in November?! Geez, Louise! Of all times to blog, too, this is such an exciting time for us! We have a little one on the way (I will be 17 weeks on Friday) and we've moved! I vow to be better at this blogging thing. It's just a tad hard when you are deprived of the internet. I need to put that on my list of things to do. haha Pregnancy is going well so far. I'm finally over the nausea. Oh, what a blessing that is! We had an ultrasound at 15 weeks, and have our next one scheduled on Feb. 9th to find out the sex of our baby. We are both so very anxious. At our last ultrasound, the tech told us that if she were to guess at that point, she would say she thinks it's a girl. She couldn't see any girl or boy "parts," so she went with girl. I'm so excited to start decorating the nursery. We are still overwhelmed at the thought of becoming parents, but we are so excited! We are humbled that God has trusted in us to love and protect this child that He already knows....we are truly blessed!

What a week!!

From Philip Fulmer leaving our beloved Vols, to a new president of our country, to my husband shooting a nail through his thumb with a nailgun..........yep, it's been a week!!
After 17 years, coaching at his alma mater, Phil is stepping down. In my opinion, it's time to have some new blood, but it was also emotional. Watching him announce it got me a little teary eyed, until I realized.....THIS MAN IS GETTING PAID 6 MILLION DOLLARS!!! That boils down to $125, 000.00 a month. WOW!! Could you live off of that?!?! I know I wouldn't have a bit of a problem! We are anxious to see who will be coaching our volunteers next year.
On Tuesday evening, Matthew and I sat around the house watching the election coverage on t.v. Although the candidate we voted for did not win, we are staying optimistic with the one chosen. I can only hope that Obama has good things in store for us. I'm anxious to see his plans unfold. God is in control!!!
And, last, but certainly not least, I got a phone call from Matthew yesterday evening telling me about his adventurous day. Seriously, does this kind of stuff only happen to MY husband?! hehe..
He is working on framing a house this week, and shot a nail straight through his thumb with a nailgun. Bless his heart!! He said it happened around noon, but didn't call me until he was on his way home because "he didn't want to stress me out." Sweet, huh?! Luckily, when he went to the clinic, an xray showed that it missed the bone by a hair. Literally. The doctor couldn't believe it. Matthew was very thankful, as this would have meant surgery if it hit the bone. (sigh of relief) Glad that's over.
Oh, and pics are soon to come from our Nashville trip this past weekend. Delaine and I had a wonderful time!
